Dan Brisse completely reshaped the perception of what was possible in the world of street snowboarding. Big, scary and fast features have became the norm for a rider with humble beginnings in the unforgiving cold of Minnesota. When his part in CAPiTA‘s second team video, Defenders of Awesome was seen by the masses it further immortalized him as one of the most powerful street riders in the history of snowboarding, as well as a force to be reckoned with in the backcountry. We caught up with Brisseburger for a couple of questions about filming DOA in this week’s Past Part and make sure you catch his latest hammers in the upcoming CAPiTA: Defenders of Awesome 2 – STAY BADASS coming out this fall.

You filmed for Real Snow that year as well, did that add any stress to filming for the CAPiTA movie?
Not really. In the past when I have been filming for Real Snow it’s just what we’re doing at the time. Everything else sort of takes the back seat until it’s over. Then, once it’s all complete you go from there.

What was the hardest spot you hit?
Probably the rail at Brighton High in Salt Lake. It’s the rail that has breaks in it and you have to hop your way down or you’ll get caught between the rail. Dylan Thompson hit another spot similar to that a couple years back and went down hard and had blood gushing from his hip. That’s when I realized I got lucky at that spot.

How many cheeseburgers did you eat that year?
Probably a couple hundred.
