Performance Review
First Impression. The first thing you notice is that this board just wants to go fast. It actually seems to handle better the faster you push it. It is an aggressive, high-energy deck that demands a rider ready to keep up.
Edge Hold. Edge hold is elite. On steep and firm terrain, the board feels exceptionally secure, largely due to its generous waist width. You can drive through turns at high speeds without any worry of the edge giving out.

Edge Transition. Transitions are incredibly smooth. It gives you the right amount of time to set your rail, and thanks to that width, toe and heel drag are non-issues even when you’re laying it over.
Drive // Pop. The pop on this board is excellent. It utilizes a clever flex pattern with a softer center and a stiffer tail; this allows you to initiate the pop easily and then get “shot to the moon” once that tail is fully engaged.
Nimbleness & Predictability. The Howler is a bit of a specialist. Because of the longer nose, it requires more effort to maneuver switch, though the taper itself is subtle. It’s a charger, not a jibber.
Stability at Speed. Stability is a core strength. At high speeds, it dampens choppy snow remarkably well, turning rough conditions into a smooth ride.
Fun Factor. It is a blast on larger jumps and in the pipe, where the stability helps you ride out even if you land slightly off-balance. It’s an advanced “quiver killer” that excels in everything except technical rail riding.
The Deep Dive
Overall Impression The Jones Howler is an aggressive all-mountain charger that thrives with speed and in the air. It isn’t the stiffest board in the world, which makes it approachable for powder and jumping, but it has more than enough backbone to handle the gnarliest steeps.
Who is this board for? Advanced riders who wants one board for the peak, the pipe, and the powder.
