Carving Board: ARMADA SHATTER POINT

ARMADA SHATTER POINT

Price: $649.95

Size Options: 151, 154, 160

Flex: Stiff

Profile: Traditional/Power Camber

Shape: Directional Core / Fall-Line Dominant

First Impression. The Shatter Point makes its intentions known immediately: it is torsionally stiff and wants to go fast! One unique and unexpected perk in the construction is the anti-slip topsheet, which provides excellent traction for your back foot—more so than all other boards.

Toe vs. Heel Edge Hold

  • Toe Edge: Sturdy. It requires a deliberate lean onto the toe edge to keep the contact points engaged but once locked in, the board holds well.
  • Heel Edge: Solid and stable providing a stout wall to lean against when absorbing high-speed chatter.

Edge Transition. Really quick from edge to edge. Because of the intense torsional stiffness, you can’t easily twist the board underfoot to micro-adjust your line but it does pivot from edge nicely.

Drive Out of Turns. The board carries a massive amount of momentum and velocity out of a turn because it refuses to slow down.

Stability at Speed. This board absolutely loves to open up and go fast.  It prefers smooth corduroy and pristine snow for peak performance.

Fun Factor. The fun factor is reserved for the right kind of pilot—one who is ready to charge with unadulterated speed on open trails.

Overall Impression. Armada Shatter Point handles speed with poise on smooth snow. The board has torsional stiffness as well as tip to tail stiffness reserved for riders who are ready to ride the board and not let the board ride you. Although it was tested in the carving category, the swallowtail would be incredibly fun in powder too.

Where it shines:

  • Terrain: Open, smooth groomers and steep faces where you want to open the throttle and go fast.
  • Speed: Fast to terminal.
  • Turn Radius: Long, sweeping, fall-line oriented lines.

Who is this board for? Advanced, hard-charging speed-demon who prefer stiff boards and wanna go fast!
