First Impression. While the board is incredibly friendly and happy to explore the mountain, its softer waist makes it a more playful companion than a high-speed ice-ax. It’s an approachable deck that feels instantly familiar.

Toe vs. Heel Edge Hold

  • Toe Edge: Remarkably solid on the appropriate terrain. The stiffer tip and tail provide enough support to keep the turn engaged once you’ve initiated.
  • Heel Edge: Equally impressive grip. It tracks straight and reliably on a flat base and feels surprisingly predictable when riding switch.

Edge Transition. Nimble and easy to control. Thanks to that soft torsional flex in the waist, transitioning from edge to edge is intuitive and quick. It doesn’t fight you, making it a great choice for riders who like to weave through terrain without a struggle.

Drive Out of Turns. Since the tip and tail are stiffer than the waist, it actually “rockets” out of turns with a surprising amount of pop. It remains approachable throughout the arc but gives you a nice energetic boost as you finish the turn.

Stability at Speed. This is not a board for the fifth-gear chargers. It feels most at home at medium speeds on mellower pitches.

Fun Factor. The “fun factor” is where the Outreach shines. It is a happy, playful board that encourages you to explore trees, slash slush, and enjoy low-angle groomers. It’s built for the stoke of a casual day rather than the intensity of a race course.

Overall Impression I really appreciate the “friendliness” of this board. The flex pattern—softer in the middle, stiffer at the ends—creates a unique ride that is easy to control yet poppy when you want it to be. It features a mostly flat camber profile with a touch of reverse in the center, which helps it stay maneuverable without feeling twitchy.

Where it shines:

  • Terrain: Low-angle groomers, in the trees, and slashing slush
  • Speed: Low to medium speeds. It’s a cruiser, not a racer.
  • Turn Radius: Naturally prefers short-radius turns thanks to its nimble waist and easy torsional flex.

Who is this board for? Intermediate riders who want the feel of a tapered board in a playful, approachable package.
