First Impression. Theadded stiffness was  obvious the moment I mounted the my bindings. Given that Red Gerard is one of the greatest freestyle riders, it makes sense that his pro model packs more torsional and longitudinal stiffness than your typical park board. The result is a board built to handle speed, power and hard landings without flinching.

Edge Hold. It provides enough security for high-speed riding and navigating large features, but it doesn’t offer that “locked-in” or aggressive bite that some other stiff chargers provide.

Edge Transition. The transition is one of the board’s stronger suits. It moves from edge to edge with a predictable, stable rhythm that works well for high-speed approaches. It’s built for the “big line” where you need a consistent platform to set your trajectory.

Drive // Pop. Due to its stiffness, the board requires more energy to load up but once it’s broken in, the pop is powerful and noticeable.

Stability at Speed. The stability at speed is easily the board’s best characteristic. It is built for large features and handles high-velocity riding with total composure. It doesn’t get bucked around and provides a damp, grounded feel that is essential for stomping landings on bigger airs.

Fun Factor. The fun is limited to those who strictly want to charge large features. It’s a very solid board in the superpipe and on big jumps.

Who is this board for? Aggressive park riders and fast all-mountain boarders who prioritize stability on large features above all else. It’s for the rider who wants a damp, stiff platform for the biggest jumps in the park.

Overall Impression The Arbor Red Gerard is a specialized tool for aggressive riding. It is a stiff, stable board that excels in the air and on big transitions.
