Binding collabs and tech are all the rage this product season. With just about every brand jumping into something new, Salomon teamed up with the crew over at Nidecker to drop their own Supermatic® binding. Perfectly integrated for their boots and boards, the Salomon XA Supermatic is now officially out. What is the big difference? It is the longstanding brand’s first convenience binding. The automatic system features a reclining highback for a large opening and easy entrance. You slide your boot in toe first, press your heel down, and you are ready to go. You can still adjust your straps if you’d like, but the new system also features locking slap-ratchets that will keep your custom fit dialed for every use. Drop your boot in the binding and step on the heel pedal for three clicks, automatically locking in for a secure and supportive ride. This automatic system allows for easy exit with a release lever—just push the lever and lift your foot out of the binding.
