When our passions lead us outdoors, into the cold, the wet, the remote; it pays to have outerwear and products that can handle the environment. On days that the thermometer reads negative, or you need to push through rain to find pow, I am often reminded of my father’s favorite saying, “there is no bad weather, just bad clothing.”
And it’s true, you never see the well-prepared rider hunkered in the lodge or by the fire, only the cotton-clad warrior is forced to seek refuge while the rest charge on. At 686, the relationship between product and experience is not only understood, but celebrated. If the outerwear we wear is what determines our ability to enjoy the outdoors, then jackets and coats become a priority, not simply an expression of fashion.
Welcome the 686 GLCR Project.
While the 686 GLCR line has been in production for some time, 2017 marks the beginning of a new era. The 686 GLCR Project strives to directly involve the users of technical outerwear with the design and testing process. Have you ever been deep in the woods, or high in the mountains and had equipment fail? Do you have a brilliant idea to make something you use every day better? Now is your chance to become a 686 GLCR Ambassador. Ambassadors will not only be given the opportunity to test product, but supply feedback, go on trips, receive discounts, and ultimately help shape the future of the GLCR line.
While 686 has remained primarily a snowboard specific brand since its inception 24 years ago, the GLCR Project is open to all that push the boundaries of the outdoors. From now until mid-December, applicants who believe their lifestyle matches that of the 686 GLCR initiative, are invited to apply to be an ambassador at http://686.com/glcrproject/.
So toss away the soggy sweatshirt for a dry coat, and extend your time in the outdoors. The best turns and most exciting adventures tend to be beyond the trail boundaries, and 686 wants you to help get them there.
