Fall is here, and the nighttime temps are plummeting in the San Bernardino Mountains. After all that’s happened this year, some sunny park laps sure would hit the spot. In only a few short weeks, the lifts will be turning and the slopes at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit will be buzzing with snowboarders attacking the newest park setups.

This winter, Big Bear Mountain Resort is prepping for a return to normal winter operations–with a few guest-friendly upgrades for the ’21-22 season.

The return to normalcy began with BBMR re-imagining what a day on the mountain could be and coming up with a bunch of solutions to streamline your experience and make it even better than before. Get ready for smoother flowing lift lines, an improved lift ticket pickup process, and plenty of opportunities to save money at the resort with your season pass.

So, what sort of wizardry awaits your arrival? Well, this summer BBMR installed RFID gates at all base area lifts so you can remotely scan your ticket and get onto the lifts quickly and seamlessly. The days of sticky tickets or having to stop and flash your pass are long gone. After all, more laps equals more fun.

Also new this winter, the first-ever BBMR Dual Season Pass, which includes unlimited visits to Bear Mountain and Snow Summit during the winter and Summit Bike Park in the summer. The Dual Season Pass also includes free remote parking in the winter, complimentary Sky Chair rides in the summer, and multiple year-round, in-resort perks like dining and retail discounts. If you’re an all-season adventurer, this pass is a no-brainer. Dual Season Passes are limited, so be sure to grab yours before they go offline.

More of a day-tripper? No problem! BBMR has made purchasing your day ticket a seamless experience through their new website and mobile app, where you can quickly and easily pick up an RFID compatible ticket, which will be waiting for you when you arrive. When you get to Bear or Summit, just scan your confirmation barcode at any of the twenty new pickup boxes in the base area–10 per mountain–and you’ll be on your way. No more fumbling for your ID or waiting behind the indecisive interlopers who can’t decide between a full or half-day ticket or are just waiting in line to ask where the bathrooms are (there’s an app for that). You are master of your domain.

Get ahead of the game and grab the all-new Big Bear Mountain Resort app (iPhone and Android) to start planning your lap-errific winter at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. After all, opening day at Snow Summit is scheduled for Friday, November 19th, and at Bear Mountain the following Friday, November 26th. Mark your calendars, wax your board, dig your favorite hoodie out of the closet, and get there for opening day.
