One of the best new contest series has made its way back to the first Burton Stash at Northstar at Tahoe, The Stash Gathering. Last seasons inaugural gathering brought some of the most progressive street tricks going down on the thickest trees and bark was flying everywhere. This year was even better. With snow conditions doing great and tons of features in The Stash, the groms, ladies, and men came out to rip even more edge into the bark. Everyone came out to shred the Craig Kelly House and other logs, including last years winner and second place, Max Weinberger and Alex Hereford. It was pretty heavy out there, especially when Alex decided to gap to boardslide from the top of the house to the far down rail on the stair set. Yea his board broke, but it would have broken any board. Gnarly. With a few new wild cards in the mix, the show was on and the shredding was out of hand. The groms are always my favorite part of this event. They are the true future of the sport. The Burton Academy at Northstar has these kids set to become the next Shaun White, but with out the leather and tight pants. Here is a look at the action from the event. Big Thanks to the Park crew from Northstar.
