Starting with an unusually early and cold snowstorm in town late November, we got to work with a few urban features. Once snow started accumulating in the mountains and the base began covering much of the nastyness, the riders were able to venture out and start hitting pillows.
There are many places to ride pillows, but the North Cascades offer some of the best. I managed to get a few shots from this year that I was stoked on. The crew has been riding a bunch of pillow lines this year and there should be some great video teasers coming soon.
I’ve been doing a bunch of splitboarding this year and managed to get out with GNU rippers Forrest Burki and Nick Ennen. Both of these guys have been riding really well this year and should both have stellar footage to show for it.
Returning rider Bart Pattitucci is shown in a rare moment as his friendship with a snowball is documented in a sequence. Austin Sweetin answered with a solid stomp of his own to finish off the day.
I am also pleased to have two new guys to shoot with this year. Derrek Lever and Blake Payne are two jibbers emerging from the Pacific Northwest scene. Both threw down really hard to get shots with Wildcard and we all are stoked to have them onboard.
