On Saturday, April 2nd Airblaster and Boreal Mountain Resort joined forces to create something different: a community-building event called the Side Hit Social. No contest, no podium, just a free flowing, fun loving, expression session with the local community and the Airblaster team. Everyone was invited, and prizing was based on the most creative snowboarding and smooth surfy style — two of the Side Hit Society’s core values.

Boreal’s park crew took hold of that idea and went above and beyond, creating a custom-built side hit volcano flow course of collective fantasies. With the California sun shining on slushy spring conditions, the session exploded into one of the best events Airblaster or Boreal have produced. If only there was a time machine to allow us to relive the experience. Or maybe the Side Hit Social should be an annual event…
All proceeds from ticket sales, plus the sum of a mellow $5 suggested donation at registration, went directly to Tahoe’s High Fives Foundation, adding to the large sum Boreal has already raised for the foundation this year. If you find yourself in Tahoe remember to ride Boreal and Stay Wild!
