Two nights, three premieres of A Constant Evolution featuring Mark Landvik. Directed and edited by Liam Gallagher of Pathology, The Mad Ones and Search For A Cool Place, the short film explores the highs and lows over the past few years of Mark’s life. Filming for one of the most progressive snowboarding films ever — the follow-up to 2011’s The Art of Flight — has been a testing experience for the Alaskan, who reveals the physical and mental struggles that accompany life or death snowboarding situations. Based on Mark’s full interview in Snowboard Magazine 12.2: The Intrinsic Issue, A Constant Evolution is testament to the character, strength and fortitude of snowboarding’s wild man.

“I think Liam Gallagher captured the story perfectly with his short film. Being able to open up to him time and time again and come back to the things that really tied this piece together was crucial. This would not have worked any other way. I could not be more proud of this new father and his dedication to his work. Thanks Liam!” — Mark Landvik

Satellite Boardshop, Boulder, Colorado

This has been, and continues to be, a big weekend for Mark Landvik. On Thursday night outside of Satellite Boardshop, we premiered A Constant Evolution to a captivated gathering of Boulder, Colorado’s snowboarding community. The power and humility of Mark’s words resonated in everyone present at the premiere, as this film is not what you would expect from someone who rides with such force. Tomorrow we will show A Constant Evolution to the world. We hope you are ready. — Jens Heig, Online Editor

N-Grained Inc., Bellingham, Washington

Mark’s Landvik’s new endeavor N-Grained Inc. was the host of a screening for A Constant Evolution, a gallery showcasing collaborative creations on mix mediums. Native formline artist and co-founder James Johnson’s pieces set the tone for this Northwest gathering.

“Last night was rad. Just to share something that’s so close to home, at home. Being able to share a film with the community that Mark and I live in was really special. It was perfect that Mark and James opened up their new studio space for us to launch this short film. I feel honored to work with Mark so closely on this story, and that he would open up to me about such a heavy issue in his life, and I’m really excited to have been selected to share this story with the Bellingham snowboard community.” — Liam Gallagher

Alaska was in the house! All of Mark’s friends and family made the trek down from AK to support him. Images from the print feature were silent auctioned with all proceeds going to The Service Board, a Seattle-based nonprofit organization set up to get under privileged youth to the mountains to go boarding. Beer was hooked up by Bellingham’s Aslan Brewing Co, and good times ensued. Things got heavy during the short film, as Lando’s story runs deep. — Brandon Parrish, Photo Editor

Belly Up, The Meeting 11, Aspen, Colorado

Aspen, Colorado — Home of X Games, Gretchen Bleiler, Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes and The Meeting, a TED-style forum for networking, movie premieres, talks and panels catered to the snow world. In it’s 11th year, The Meeting was hosted by long-time action sports event commentator Pat Parnell who engaged panels on topics such as maximizing the value of content investment, effective deployment of digital and social media strategy to deliver an engaged audience and Individual conversations with Stance’s VP of Integrated Marketing, Nick Tran and Issa Sawabini, Partner at Fuse. Both shared their content partnership experiences working with brands such as Taco Bell, Harley Davidson, Mountain Dew and Stance.

The aspen trees, just past peak foliage, and the inspiration for this iconic mountain town’s name, stole the show with their colors and day two of the meeting was spent outside! Mountain biking, go carting and hiking among the activities attendees chose. I met up with one of our contributing photographers, Sean Kerrick Sullivan, who happened to be in town on his own accord for some off-road adventuring and photo nerding. A Constant Evolution featuring Mark Landvik premiered at the Wagner Theater early in the evening and at the Belly Up later last night. It was rad to see our short film on the big screen! I watched it with Chad Otterstrom, Annie Fast and Mark Sperling, who knew an unexpected side of Mark after seeing the film. — Susie Floros, Editor in Chief

Mark would like to thank Travis Rice for everything he has done for him, as well as Jace and Ryan for helping prepare N-Grained Inc. to be premiere-ready last night.

A Constant Evolution makes its internet debut tomorrow right here on snowboardmag.com, don’t miss it.
